This document describes how to identify RI8586A3 25 GHz Source with capacitor issue with the "Rev B boards" in position M24, does not apply to later revisions. The Source# instrument does not output any power above -50 dBM and the TIM fan does not operate.
URGENCY: Low. Repair as failure occurs.
SYMPTOMS
No Power Out. TIM Fan not running.
Unit will not power up on bench, debug finds +15V SMPS is in current limit and is cycling. Tracing issue to Apria M24-NG Rev B module. Found 2nd capacitor at pwr input pi filter is ohmatic (12ohms) but not shorted 100%
CORRECTIVE ACTION REQUIRED
Factory repair to replace affected components with 4 10uF 50V ceramic capacitors.
